Here is your homework question:-

Explain, using examples, the social and economic effects of deindustrialisation in an area of traditional heavy industry. (6)

You need to plan your essay answer like so…..

write about the Ruhr industries (Coal, Iron&Steel), how they have declined since 1950…..write about the socio-economic problems that this caused. (These are in your yellow books)
Add numbers, place names etc
Write about South Wales, problems caused by coal mines+iron and steel industry being closed. eg. unemployment,dereliction, vandalism, family breakdowns, drug use by young, alcoholism. Change to Light manufacturing and part-time female employment.
Try to include factory names such as Hitachi, Millennium Stadium Cardiff etc. Cardiff Bay Development Corporation.
